Christian leaders, pastors, professionals and youth representatives gathered in Yaoundé for the 2026 Christian Leaders Integrity Conference, an initiative of the Cameroon Integrity Leaders Network (CILN) aimed at strengthening ethical leadership and promoting values-driven transformation. Held under the theme “Rebuilding the Walls of Integrity: Equipping Christian Leaders for National Transformation,” the meeting sought to create a platform for reflection, collaboration and commitment among actors of the Christian community.
Over two days, the conference brought together participants from various ministries and professional backgrounds at the CBC Health Services Resource Center in Mvan, Yaoundé. The gathering was designed as a forum for examining the challenges affecting leadership credibility and exploring practical approaches to restore confidence in institutions and communities.
Organized by the Cameroon Integrity Leaders Network, a national movement connected to the Global Integrity Leaders Network coordinated by Evangelist Evan Thom Schotanus, the event placed moral responsibility at the center of discussions on the future of leadership in Cameroon. The organizers emphasized the need for leaders whose actions are consistent with their convictions and whose influence extends beyond religious spaces.
In his opening reflections, Godwill Achataseh, lead organizer of the conference, highlighted the importance of collective responsibility among Christian leaders. According to him, many individuals are already making significant contributions within their communities, but these efforts often remain isolated. A united platform, he argued, can transform these individual initiatives into a stronger force for social impact.
The discussions also focused on the consequences of ethical decline in leadership. Participants examined how compromised values can weaken public confidence, affect institutions and create divisions within communities. Speakers stressed that credibility remains one of the most valuable assets of any leader and must be protected through accountability, humility and transparency.
Drawing inspiration from the biblical figure of Nehemiah, who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem after a period of destruction, the conference encouraged participants to view integrity as a foundation for rebuilding society. The metaphor of restoring broken walls was presented as a call to action for leaders willing to confront challenges and contribute to a renewed moral vision.
Beyond spiritual leadership, the conference addressed integrity in different areas of national life, including education, business, civil society, governance and family structures. Through keynote presentations, dialogue sessions and exchanges between participants, the organizers sought to promote a broader understanding of responsible leadership.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to officially advance the vision of CILN, which seeks to equip Christian leaders, encourage interdenominational cooperation and establish a long-term community focused on mentoring and mutual accountability. The network intends to create bridges between generations, sectors and regions around shared ethical principles.
A partnership with Converge International Ministries was recognized as a significant contribution to the success of the initiative. Organizers noted that collaboration with international and local actors demonstrates a growing commitment to strengthening leadership models based on service and integrity.
With the Christian Leaders Integrity Award also included among its objectives, the conference aimed to highlight exemplary figures who embody ethical commitment. For CILN, recognizing such examples is part of a broader strategy to inspire emerging leaders and encourage a culture where character remains central to influence.
As the conference concluded, participants were invited to carry forward the message of renewal beyond the meeting venue. The organizers expressed the hope that the movement would continue to grow and inspire a generation of leaders capable of contributing to Cameroon’s transformation through faith, responsibility and integrity.
